We are a small cut flower farm located in Portugal Cove, Newfoundland, specializing in sustainably grown and foraged bouquets and arrangements.
Blue Bridge Gardens respectfully acknowledges that we are located on the ancestral homelands of the Beothuk, whose culture has been erased forever.
We also acknowledge the island of Ktaqmkuk (Newfoundland) as the unceded, traditional territory of the Beothuk and the Mi'kmaq peoples.
Our Guiding Principles:
Bouquet, arrangement and dried ingredients from Blue Bridge Gardens are all grown or harvested locally, ensuring long vase life and the freshest possible flowers with the lowest environmental impact. We do not dye, paint or bleach any flowers or foliage, (fresh or dried) that we use.
All cultivated flowers and foliage are grown on our farm, utilizing sustainable agricultural practices and are pesticide-free. Wild gathered materials are harvested using care and methods that emphasize responsible, sustainable foraging and respect for the environment.
Packaging and supplies we use focus on low-waste, recyclable materials wherever possible and arrangements utilize foam-free support methods.
Seeds, bulbs and tubers for the farm are sourced from Canadian suppliers whenever possible, with a preference for suppliers and businesses that use organic and regenerative methods.

Kate Dutton - Farmer & Florist
Influenced by a childhood of helping in her family’s organic market gardens, Kate began growing her own vegetables (and some flowers) over 15 years ago. What started as a few Cosmos and Sweet Pea plants added to veggies beds grew into a full fledged obsession with locally grown flowers of all kinds.
Her love of flowers and interest in floral design is directly connected to her background in visual arts.
Her passion for sustainable growing practices, local agriculture and educating others is fueled by a deep connection to and appreciation of the natural world and our role within it.
Manny - Garden Manager & Foraging Supervisor
The true Head Honcho of Blue Bridge Gardens, Manny is a Golden Retriever who helps oversee all the garden and foraging work. He is always up for adventuring in the woods, taste testing cheese, going for a swim and getting belly rubs.
